This Privacy Policy describes how Revelations in Grace (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our self-hosted WordPress website.

We aim to collect only what is necessary and to keep your data private.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form (name and email address), and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

Avatars are generated locally from the commenter’s initials. We do not use the Gravatar service, and we do not send your email address or a hash of it to any third-party avatar provider.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in (administrators only), we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Our article rating system (FeedbackWP) may set a cookie to help prevent duplicate ratings from the same browser.

We do not use cookies for analytics.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics (Burst Statistics)

This website uses Burst Statistics, a privacy-friendly statistics tool, to analyze visitor behavior.

We use Burst in its cookieless and fingerprintless mode. All analytics data is stored locally in our own WordPress database and is not shared with Burst or any other party. We honor browser “Do Not Track” requests — visits from users who have DNT enabled are ignored.

The data collected is anonymized and does not include personally identifiable information.

Email Subscriptions (MailPoet + Hostinger SMTP)

If you subscribe to receive notifications of new articles, we collect only your email address.

We use the MailPoet plugin to manage subscriptions, but we do not use the MailPoet Sending Service. Emails are sent locally via SMTP through our hosting provider (Hostinger).

Your email address is used solely for:

We do not track opens or clicks on these emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email.

Article Ratings (FeedbackWP)

We use the FeedbackWP plugin (with default settings) to allow visitors to rate articles with a 5-star system.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Limited technical processing occurs only as necessary for:

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments or subscribed to email notifications, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To make a request, email us at revelationsingrace@gmail.com.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

All other data (comments, subscriptions, ratings, and analytics) remains on our self-hosted WordPress installation.
